Very light Dinghy

 

Sheet plywood or foam core sheet construction. You can make this dinghy in a few weeks in the evenings. Depending on how you want to build it you can achieve weighs as low as 30 lbs..........for a 9.5 ft. boat !!!!!!

In 6 mm Okoume plywood the weight is around 45 lbs. with a cost materials being less than $300.

Row it, sail it, or put a "mirage" drive on it.

Note the later drawings.....the seat is done longitudinally so that the row can change his/her position when there is a crew on board.

The proto-type weighs 28 lbs. !!!
